● Shedule : Evening classes, 4 days a week (Mondays to Thursdays, from 6:15 to 9:15pm)

● LINC level: 7

● Starting date: January 22nd, 2024

● Contract duration: min. 6 months (replacing a teacher on temporary leave)

● Location: Online (Zoom)

● Salary: min. $32/hour (paid 3 instructional hours + 1 hour for course preparation per class)

Collège Éducacentre is currently looking for qualified and experienced candidates to fill a temporary LINC

7 instructor position for its online class. At Collège Éducacentre, LINC is provided within a Francophone

college. Intended to focus on immigrant needs relating to social, cultural, economic and political

integration in Canada, this integrated approach to language learning has target objectives and

outcomes identified in a task-based and learner-centered learning environment.

Requirements

● Bachelor’s Degree and TESL Canada teaching Certification or equivalent

● Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in adult ESL settings

● Demonstrated understanding of the Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA) system and the

Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB)

● Have working knowledge of the philosophy and teaching objectives of the LINC program

● Competency using technology in the classroom. Able to teach via Zoom (or other online meeting

tools), as required

● Experience using Avenue.ca is an asset

● Experience teaching in an immigrant and refugee settlement language program - eg. LINC

(negotiable)

● Flexibility to attend/complete training and Professional Development, as required

● Ability to communicate fluently and accurately in both written and spoken English.

● Team player, adaptable, culturally sensitive

● A valid criminal record check (working with vulnerable adults)

Job Description:

● Prepare CLB-aligned lesson plans and curriculum materials

● Deliver skill building language and settlement lessons to adult immigrants and refugees

● Plan and lead field trips and activities with students

● Maintain accurate attendance and activity reports

● Monitor students’ progress and provide timely feedback

● Collaborate with colleagues, the Lead PBLA teacher and the LINC Coordinator
